Eleanor and Hobbs is a curated women’s boutique on the west side of Cleveland. We’re growing, and we’re looking for people who live, breathe, and eat fashion — on the floor, behind the scenes, and leading the store.
Eleanor & Hobbs is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead our team, grow sales, and deliver the personal styling experience our clients love. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the sales floor, develops others through training and coaching, and takes ownership of the store’s daily performance and presentation.
Working closely with the owner, the Store Manager will be responsible for achieving monthly sales plans, maintaining a beautifully merchandised store, and ensuring every team member has the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
Key responsibilities
—Lead the team: Set clear expectations, delegate daily responsibilities, and create a positive, professional environment built on teamwork and accountability.
—Achieve sales plans: Take responsibility for meeting monthly and annual store sales goals. Communicate targets, monitor progress, and coach the team on actions that improve results.
—Train and develop staff: Lead onboarding and ongoing training in styling, selling techniques, client outreach, product knowledge, and store procedures. Provide regular feedback and follow through on performance expectations.
—Oversee daily operations: Ensure staff are trained and consistently follow opening and closing procedures, POS processes, cash handling, returns, and store policies.
—Direct visual merchandising: Keep the store fresh, cohesive, and inviting through regular updates to windows, mannequins, racks, and tables. Merchandise complete looks and highlight new arrivals.
—Teach presentation standards: Train staff on proper hanging, sizing, folding, replenishment, and display maintenance so the store remains polished throughout the day.
—Build client relationships: Lead by example through personal styling, thoughtful follow-up, and consistent outreach. Help the team develop loyal clientele and encourage repeat visits.
—Maintain product knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of our designers, collections, fit, and fabrication, and provide regular product training for the team.
—Support e-commerce operations: Ensure accurate Shopify order fulfillment and shipping, with staff trained to follow established procedures.
—Manage scheduling: Create staff schedules that support sales needs, events, and daily operations while maintaining appropriate coverage.
—Resolve customer concerns: Handle questions and complaints with sound judgment, professionalism, and care.
—Partner with the owner: Share sales results, client feedback, product opportunities, and staffing needs, and support store events and promotions.
Qualifications
—Fashion Retail Management Experience: A minimum of three years of fashion retail management experience is required.
—Proven Leadership: Experience leading, training, and motivating a sales team, with the ability to give clear direction and constructive feedback.
—Sales Results: A demonstrated record of achieving sales goals and building strong client relationships.
—Styling & Merchandising Skills: A strong sense of personal style, an understanding of contemporary fashion, and experience creating effective merchandise displays.
—Operational Knowledge: Confidence with POS systems, inventory management, and daily retail procedures. Heartland Retail and Shopify experience preferred.
